Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. Her name is widely praised as the pioneer of modern research of the eyewitness memory of children and utilizing child victims to testify as legal witnesses. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer, has won many awards and grants. She has worked with a variety of government agencies and institutions around the globe on research and policies relating to children who are victims of the legal system. She serves as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She was a part of several professional associations including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She served as president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Family and Child Policies and Practice.
